Message from the RDCS 2010 Workshop Organizers

Assessing and measuring resilience is the key stone for improving trustworthiness in distributed systems and service infrastructures. There are many studies presenting the results achieved in resilience evaluation based on the analysis of experimental measurements or collection of field failure data. Both academia and industry are interested in having accurate methods and relevant data to be analyzed. Academic approaches typically focus on proper analysis methods and experimental setups (choosing configurations, parameters and benchmarks that appear sensible and relevant for measuring resilience), while industrial approaches struggle with the huge amount of raw field data that has to be processed to gain relevant indicators for problem solving and system optimization. In spite of decades of research and continuous progress in practice, experimental resilience evaluation is still a challenging problem. The workshop aims at addressing the following topic:
